why do you need a life coach?

Updated: Sep 15, 2023

For people at the cross roads: How do you make decisions the smart way; in a manner that lets you take advantage of life opportunity while surviving being the the sandwich group of people. Staying focus and making daily small advances with the One Life Qimen recommendations for the sandwich group ages between 25 to 50 years old.

Doing it the Coach Joanne method.

Now, I am going to share with you my method on making that 'Plan' that all mothers, career woman, daughter and wife intend to make but somehow get lost with the happenings of life. You will need to at least have a pen and notebook (so that the Plan don't find its way into the dustbin anytime soon).

Let's start off with a Great Title such as 'Joanne's Monthly Achievement Roadmap' for example. You can give your own Great Title to that Plan of yours. However you do need to keep in mind that, every plan has a deadline. That will be the basis of Life Planning, having a defined start and a defined end (well sort of).

Tip #1 - making a plan for yourself

Now that you have your Title, it is time to make it work. So for the month of March, I plan to finish that Professional Report for gaining a new Accreditation to add to my Resume.

Time to follow boring standard operating procedures of 3 simple steps:

a) Important information gathering by going to the source, samples from people who have done it, and also feedback. In my case, the Accreditation Body relevant and also a Sample Report from people who succeed before me.

You will now have a picture in your mind what the final outcomes look like. And that is good enough.

b) Simple List / Steps to take to achieve the target. Do not need to be concern about it being the most complete list. The list is written with the idea and knowledge that it will be updated from time to time as life happens. It is okay. You are still doing fine.

c) Commit Time to execute Plan but must be well paced and keeping to the deadline. The committed time can be just you telling yourself to put at least 30 minutes to work on completing the Steps above.

Sometimes your succeed and sometime you don't, just mark the feedback in your calendar.

Tip #2 - keeping it real

After a week or two, that initial simple list would surely have been updated many times. It is time to keep it real and give yourself the most honest feedback by looking at your calendar, have you been discipline enough in doing your committed time? Be realistic about it.

This is mid way review time. At this junction there are generally 2 scenario:

a) Congratulation! You are on track with just a simple list. Continue to commit to your original plan

b) Opps! Things don't look so great. You are behind on your progress. You can either double down on your effort by yourself or it is time to get help. Reach out to either Professional Life Coach to keep you on track or someone you trust is wise enough to guide you while you put in efforts to catch up on progress. Keep your goals in mind and you will eventually reach there.

Tip #3 -accept the fact that plans are made to be changed

Alternately, if the deadline is something within your control or your personal endeavors, whereby it is still okay to renegotiate the initial deadline to a later date. It is time to do it.

Hey, we have all been there, life happens and somethings get deprioritized, it is alright to make changes to your plans to fit into your current environment. Remember to be kind to yourself.

Tip #4 - be mindful of the people you mix with

For some people, the difficulty in achieving their goals are partly due to the non-conclusive environment. In these instances, having a simple plan and your own individual effort may not be enough to make substantial improvements your goals.

The environment you find yourself in consist of people your interact with on a regular basis. It may not be evidently clear to you, the Protagonist, perhaps you need to start to be a bit mindful of people you mix with. You may need to build new connections with people who shares your drive to be better in life and disconnect with some people who do not support your in a positive manner.
